Obituary: WEENIG, ERMA LILLIAN PAGE

Erma Lillian Page Weenig1927 ~ 2011Erma returned to her Heavenly Father on December 26, 2011 after fighting a long battle with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and related complications.Erma was born to Willard Eugene and Delora Marie (Hansen) Page on Jan. 11, 1927. She grew up in Clearfield Utah and was the fourth of 9 children. Erma cherished her membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her great faith and strong testimony of the restoration of the Gospel were the foundation of her life. She treasured the experiences of serving in the church primary, relief society and stake Young Woman Organizations. Attending the Temple and serving as a missionary to the Central Atlantic States Mission were highlights in her life. She also loved serving as a hostess at the Church Office Building and in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. She married Harry M. Weenig on June 30, 1961 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Erma is the mother of four children and grandmother to 13 grandchildren and one great grand-daughter. Her most cherished memories are time spent with her family. Motherhood was her top priority. She taught her children the value of hard work, education and to develop a strong testimony. Erma enjoyed the many years she spent working with the ladies of the "caring council" of the Utah Youth Village. Erma has a deep love and appreciation for music. She learned to play the piano at a young age and had the opportunity to play 5 classical numbers in a concert at Lagoon on Armed Forces Day one summer. Erma had a quest for learning and was constantly reading. She graduated from Davis High School. She continued her education by graduating from the Mary Webb Davis School of Fashion and Design in Los Angeles California and became a skilled seamstress. She received a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in music from BYU. She loved to travel and saw much of the world traveling with her husband and family. One of the highlights of her education was touring Europe for three months as a BYU student where she was able to visit 15 countries. Erma had a sweet infectious laugh and would sometimes laugh till she cried! Her children loved hearing her and watching the tears stream down her face! She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She has many treasured friendships that she maintained with numerous cards, letters and phone calls. Erma was always thinking of those in need. Either through her church callings in Relief Society or by participating in many sub for Santa's.She is survived by her husband Harry M. Weenig, daughters, Nancy Morgan, Vicki Thomas (Jerry), sons Roger (Mary), and Steven. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard Eugene Page and Delora Marie Hansen Page, Brothers Reed, Eldon and Allen Page and sister Marie Page Nilson. Funeral services will be held at the Old Mill Ward, Saturday Dec. 31st at 1:00 pm 7035 Nutree Drive Salt Lake City, Utah. With viewings Friday December 30, from 6-8 pm at Mountain View Memorial 3115 E. 7800 So. and Saturday December 31, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm preceding the funeral at the Old Mill Ward.
