Mary Emma Newquist Larsen1924 ~ 2011Mary Larsen, 87, loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve, just in time to join her family on the other side for Christmas.Mary was born on September 28th, 1924 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the youngest of four children born to Andy and Ruth Newquist. She grew up on Apricot Avenue in the Capitol Hill neighborhood and graduated from West High School. On February 11th, 1943 she married her sweetheart Dean S. Larsen in the Salt Lake Temple. Dean and Mary were best friends and their love for each other was evident by anyone who knew them. Mary enjoyed being with the ones she loved and her family meant everything to her. She was an active member of the LDS Church and faithfully served in many callings throughout her life. She had true artistic talent when it came to accessorizing and was always receiving compliments for her sense of style. She loved to travel, go shopping, enjoyed sewing, jewelry making and other handiwork. Mary was a happy person who was loved by all who knew her. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Dean, her two sons Dean Craig Larsen and Douglas Ray Larsen. She is survived by her daughters-in-law, Esther Larsen and Elaine Larsen, her daughter Sharon Adams (Mark), and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 31st at the Compton Bench Chapel located at 850 North 300 West, Farmington, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m.
