Charles Alfred Underwood1926 ~ 2011Charles Alfred Underwood, age 85, of Orem, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Friday, December 16, 2011. He was born to Veda Turnbow and Charles Henry Underwood in Kamas, Utah on August 29, 1926. He was raised by Veda and her second husband, Harold Blondin to whom he was sealed. He married Wanda Louise Gray in the Manti Temple on March 22, 1948. Al served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. It is there that he was trained and learned about electronics and he spent his life working in that field. He retired from IBM in 1989 after working there for 25 years. Al was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions within that organization. He and Wanda lived in Southern California, Salt Lake City, San Jose, California and then finally Provo, Utah after they retired. Al missed Wanda and will be very happy to be reunited with her. Al is survived by his daughter Loretta (Jim) Anderson and his son Richard Paul Underwood as well as 14 grandchildren and nearly 50 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his dear sister Helen Willis, and siblings, Raymond Blondin, Ruth Ann Gaw, and Thomas Blondin as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday, December 30, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 S. State Street, Orem, Utah. A visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the funeral services.
