How did changing a clock become a colossal nuisance? Most will adjust automatically for you ("No daylight saving time," Readers' Forum, Dec. 28). James Marples is correct that daylight saving time is a relatively modern innovation to lengthen labor and recreation time during the hours of sunshine in the summer months.
It is designed to match the majority of peoples' lives and activity patterns with the sun. It is one of the greatest ideas of all "time." I and everyone I know love daylight saving time.
Rep. Jim Nielson, R-Bountiful, needs to take his proposed legislation and tear it up; he is listening to the minority and not the majority. The majority of us look forward to the opportunity to adjust the clock forward each year as it is the sign that spring and summer are soon to arrive.
