Norda A. RoperAug 27, 1922~Dec 26, 2011Norda Afton Anderson Roper, 89, passed away Dec. 26, 2011 in Delta, UT. Born to George Hyrum and Adele Hegyessy Anderson on Aug. 27, 1922 in Oak City, UT. She was raised in Oak City working on the farm during the depression and learned the value of hard work which she passed on to her children. Married Leland J Roper on Feb. 17, 1944 in Oak City, while he was on leave from World War II. Marriage solemnized in St. George Temple. They finally settled in Delta where she worked at D. Stevens Inc. in Delta as bookkeeper and secretary until retiring.Norda was a member of the LDS Church, serving various callings including Temple Ordinance Worker in Manti Temple. She touched lives of many people through employment and church service. Had great love for music, singing with Blue Notes in Millard County many years. She thoroughly enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Preceded in death by husband of 67 years: L.J. Roper, and son: Brian Roper. Survived by sons: R. Dale (Karen), Forrest (Sharon), Alan (Mira), all of Delta, and daughter-in-law: Kathy Difabio of North Ogden. She was loved by 14 grandkids and 22 great-grandkids.Services: Saturday Dec. 31, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Delta 4th Ward Chapel, 197 S 300 W, Delta. Friends call at church Saturday morning, 9:00-10:40 a.m. Burial Delta City Cemetery under direction of Nickle Mortuary, Delta.
