SALT LAKE CITY — A bill failed to pass the House Tuesday that would have made voters' birthday and month private information.

Some lawmakers said they opposed HB410 because not having access to that voter registration information would make it more difficult for political parties and candidates to contact certain constituents.

Sponsored by Rep. Rebecca Edwards, R-North Salt Lake, the measure failed 30-42.
