SALT LAKE CITY — A man accused of throwing nearly all of his roommate's possessions in a Dumpster and setting them on fire has been arrested.
Tuesday, in what investigators are calling a domestic issue, a man took his roommate's personal belongs — about $6,000 worth of items — and allegedly set them on fire.
"It was a considerable loss," said Salt Lake Fire Department spokesman Mike Harp. Though he could not say Thursday exactly what items were lost.
About 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, police received a call that the man accused of setting the fire was at a 7-Eleven, 109 S. 300 East. Officers responding to the scene and spotted the man, who also spotted them and ran.
Following a foot chase, Arthur Thompson, 37, was located hiding under a parking structure. He was arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of arson.
