Carolyn Musick Kite 1937 ~ 2011
Carolyn died at her home in Santa Maria, California on February 20, 2011. She was born July 23, 1937 in Kamas, Utah to Vern Ira and Nelda Gines Musick. She grew up in Park City, Utah and worked at Coffee John's where she met her husband, Lawrence Martin "Tubba" Kite, they married on September 17, 1956. Carolyn lived in California, Maryland, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas as a result of Larry's work and she made many friends in those areas. She also had many friends through her years of square dancing. Carolyn loved to travel; she traveled the country with Larry in their motor home to visit friends, sightsee and square dance. She also enjoyed being with her family and reading. Carolyn is survived by her son, Lawrence Martin, Jr. "Marty" and his spouse, Kelly Ann (Garrity) Kite of Sparks, Nevada; three grandchildren, Jason Strickland of Atlanta, Georgia; Lawrence Martin III and Kara Lynn Kite; two great-grand-children, Skylar Paul and Zuri Grace Strickland; nine nieces and nephews; and in-laws Katherine Garamendi, Lois Musick, and James Weaver. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, James Alfred; brother, Vern Ira Musick, Jr.; and sister, Marilyn Musick Weaver. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street, Midvale, Utah. Friends may call on the family 90 minutes prior to the service at the mortuary. Interment, Park City, Utah cemetery.
