Anna Lee Burtenshaw 4/5/1933 ~ 3/26/2011 Monticello
Anna Lee Pehrson Burtenshaw, 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 26, 2011, at a Beehive Home in Provo. Anna Lee was born April 5, 1933 in Monticello. She was the youngest of three children born to Rodney and Josephine Hyde Pehrson. Anna Lee graduated from Monticello High School and was valedictorian of her class. She was the beloved wife of Kay Devon Burtenshaw for nearly 60 years. They are the parents of three children: Kaylene (David) Phillips, of Orem; Laurie O'Steen, of Montrose, Colo; and Kim (Cyndi) Burtenshaw, of Monticello. They have 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grand-children. The couple made their home in Monticello. Anna Lee was a devoted homemaker. She worked as bookkeeper with Devon when he started his business, Devon's Repair Service. She loved hunting, Jeeping, boating, camping, snowmobiling and four-wheeling. She loved having fun with family and friends. She had a reputation for her good cooking. She was an avid reader and loved to sew, make quilts and crochet. She was a humble, faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Anna Lee is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Geneil, and brother, Richard. Her husband, Devon, preceded her in death by 60 days. Anna Lee died on their 60th wedding anniversary. Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service at 12 noon, Friday, April 1, 2011 at the North Chapel, 347 North 200 West, Monticello. Bishop Steven Duke, of the Monticello 3rd Ward, will officiate. Viewing will be held prior to the funeral, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the chapel. Interment will follow at Monticello Cemetery. Anna Lee is in the care of San Juan Mortuary in Blanding.
