OKLAHOMA CITY – At the end of the 2011 Mountain West Conference Swimming and Diving Championships last weekend, University of Utah senior Natalie Edge was awarded the Senior Recognition Award for being an exemplary MWC female student-athlete.
The Senior Recognition Award is bestowed upon senior student-athletes who exemplify the high standards of the MWC. It is based upon their athletic performances; academic achievements; and other noteworthy qualities, such as leadership.
For the 2010-11 season, Edge has served Utah's swimming and diving squad as a team captain.
At the 2011 MWC Championships, Edge placed fourth in the 100 freestyle relay (50.02), and eighth in the 50 freestyle (22.97) and 200 freestyle (1:50.64). She also assisted in the school record-breaking relays including the first-place 400 freestyle relay (3:18.87), the fifth-place 200 medley relay (1:40.42), the second-place 200 freestyle relay (1:31.16), and the winning all-time, conference record-breaking 400 medley relay (3:38.33).
