Phoebe Myler "Will be Missed"
Phoebe Myler passed away peacefully on March 3, 2011 at 8:48 a.m. in Orem. She was the daughter of John Leroy Lee and Abigail Emma Huffaker. She married Glen Leland Myler on August 22, 1949 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Phoebe was born in Tooele, Utah on November 5, 1925 just a few minutes after her twin sister Phyllis. She was the youngest of 13 children. Phoebe is survived by her daughters Sharon (Cameron) Sevy, Patti Davis, and Barb (Steve) Hehl; sons Brad (Lisa) Myler, Larry (Jill) Myler, Scott (Chris) Myler, and son-in-law Greg (Jan) Pennington. She has 32 grandchildren and 58 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Lillian Hadlock, sisters-in-law Thelma Myler and Lois Myler, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughters Lorraine and Marilyn, and brothers and sisters Helen, Emma, Beth, Zoe, Emerson, Bob, George, John S., Phyllis, and Abbie. She went to nursing school at the University of Utah where she received a degree in nursing. She practiced nursing during World War II, and worked as a nurse in the LDS Hospital before settling down to start a family. Together, she and Glen lived in Iowa, Los Angeles, Santa Ana, and Tustin, CA. In 1987 after her husband died, she moved to Orem to be with family. While in Utah and at the age of 63, she went back to school to refresh her RN license. She then worked in a Pediatrician's office in Provo for several years before leaving to serve a mission for the LDS Church. She was called to the Los Angeles Temple Family History Center and loved her time there. Throughout her life, Phoebe served her family, her friends, her neighbors and her Lord faithfully, because of her love for them. She will be remembered for always having Certs in her purse, a safety pin on her belt loop, and bright pink lipstick on her lips. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the LDS Lakeview Stake Center building located 400 W 1800 S in Orem. Viewings will take place on Sunday evening March 6, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary located at 495 S. State in Orem, as well as on Monday March 7, 2011 at the stake center one hour prior to the funeral services. Burial will be in the Tooele City Cemetery.
