Barbara Sue Haygood 1936 ~ 2011
Barbara Sue Haygood passed away peacefully in her home on March 1st surrounded by friends. Sue moved to Park City in 1979 to open the Carbide Lamp Restaurant, where she quickly became known as a great cook and a local character. She later was the chef at the Grub Steak before opening her own restaurant, Sue's, in Park City. Sue's was the place where all the locals met for lunch and to enjoy Sue's famous Beer Bread, fresh daily soups and the local gossip. Sue was always there greeting everyone by name and running back and forth from the kitchen to the tables to make sure everyone had enough to eat! Sue also started a very successful catering business but her declining health forced her shut down in the mid 90's Sue's passion for cooking and home cooked food put her on the local map and once she closed her business she still cooked for all her friends. She never let a friend have a party without sending over one of her specialties. Sue was born on December 9, 1936 in Pineville, Ky. and was the only sister of the late Jack Dozier. Memorial services will be on April 5th at 2:00 p.m. Park City Cemetery Grave Side on Kearns Blvd, Park City, Utah.
