LaWana Mae Bosen Hardy, born July 12, 1929 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Juel and Edna Bosen; passed away peacefully on March 3rd, 2011. Married to Roy Ernest Hardy on January 4th, 1947 and later solomonized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Roy and LaWana had a wonderful marriage and recently celebrated their 64th wedding annivesary. She graduated from South High and later attended the University of Utah. In her younger years she enjoyed singing, dancing and playing the piano and was always the life of the party. She met Roy at the Brighton Store and they haven't been inseparable ever since. She lived in Salt Lake, and later retired to St. George. Mom loved traveling around the world, boating at Lake Powell, skiing, golfing and playing bridge at the Bloomington Country Club with her friends and family. She always wanted to make sure that there was plenty of food and entertainment for a good bridge game or bingo party. She enjoyed the outdoors and spending time in Brighton, Utah and Pinedale, Wyoming. She was a very active member of The church of Jesus Christ of Later-day saints. She enjoyed being busy and was happiest while helping others. She is survived by her husband Roy, Five Children: Laura (Fred) Armstrong (CA), Sherrie Hardy (West Valley), Teri (Bob) Ladle (South Jordan), Deborah (Craig) Romano (North Salt Lake), Bruce (Judy) Hardy (St. George); Two sisters, Verna (Everett) Goings (CA), Bonnie Davis and brother David Bosen (Salt Lake City); 12 grand children and 11 great grand children. Preceded in death by her parents Edna and Juel Bosen; brothers Glenn and Lee Bosen and daughter Patricia Jean Hardy. The family would like to thank The Coventry Independent Living Center for all of their kindness and support. The viewing will be held on Tuesday March 8th at the Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, Utah from 6 - 8 p.m. There will also be a viewing Wednesday March 9th at 11 am, followed by a funeral at 12:00 noon in North Salt Lake at the Fox Hill Ward on 200 South Eagleridge Blvd. In lieu of flowers, our family encourages you to spend some extra time with your family. We also suggest donating to the "Foundation for Children and Youth with Diabetes".
