Yvonne Marguerite Estores Wallace "Pixie" Kuuleilani 1940 ~ 2011
Pixie passed away March 2, 2011 as loved ones stood by her bedside, after a valiant fight with a longillness. She was born to Sofronio Joseph and Josephine Kuulei Puaala Estores on May 27, 1940. Pixie married Ashley H. Wallace III on July 7, 1984 in Waimea Falls Park, Oahu, Hawaii. She is a double transplant patient receiving both a liver and a kidney. She volunteered and sponsored parties for the liver and kidney transplant organizations. Pixie and her family will be forever grateful for those that donated these organs to her. We would like to thank the donor of the liver but his/her name is unknown; we are indebted to Steven Baldridge, a dear friend, who graciously and lovingly donated one of his kidneys. These procedures extended Pixie's life for 13 years, which she packed with service and work. She loved to travel and was an award winning travel agent winning Escort of the Year from the Hawaii Visitors Bureau, was also a licensed massage therapist. Pixie was always the center of any celebration, planning, entertaining, and cleaning up. She cooked many luaus and would often stay awake through the night to get it ready. Pixie believed in doing things well and did her best in any situation. She was generous with her time, money and "opinions". Pixie gave years of tender care to her mother-in-law, Ellen Wallace, enabling her to stay home until her death, which was a blessing to the whole family. Pixie was a generous person and was always willing to help anyone in need. She was a devoted and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her goal was to visit every temple. Pixie was the seventh of 20 siblings. Pixie used to say, "Same mother, same father, no TV." She was active in the upbringing of her younger brothers and sisters. She is preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings. She is survived by her husband, father-in-law, 12 siblings, two stepchildren, six grandchildren and many other loving family members. The family would like to thank all of those that helped and cared for Pixie, and most recently the excellent ICU nurses and doctors at the Intermountain Medical Center. A viewing will be held Sunday, March 6 from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 290 E South Temple. Funeral services will be Monday, March 7 at noon at Park Ward, 495 E. 5600 So., friends and family may also call one hour prior to the services. The family encourages those coming to celebrate Pixie's life to wear casual or Aloha attire. Interment at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
