People such as Daryl Hannah and others who came to Salt Lake to support Tim DeChristopher cannot be taken seriously. They are fossil fuel users who, in essence, are protesting the extraction and use of fossil fuels. It makes me wonder how much jet fuel was burned to fly these celebrities here and then back to their palatial homes that use fossil fuels for heating, cooling and lighting. How many of them drive or ride in vehicles with internal-combustion engines fueled by gasoline or diesel, or with electric motors and batteries recharged by coal-fired power plants? How many drive on highways paved with petroleum-based asphalt? How many eat foods shipped by diesel-burning trucks, or wear clothing using petroleum-based fabrics?
