Sandra Jeanne Sodja 1945 ~ 2011
Sandra Jeanne Sodja passed away on March 4, 2011 in St. Marks Hospital, Salt Lake City, Utah.Sandra was born in Fillmore, Utah on March 8, 1945 to Ernest Joseph Sodja and Marian Stevens Sodja, while her father was serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After her father returned from the Navy, the family resided in Tooele, Utah for ten years then moved to Hunter (West Valley), Utah. Sandra graduated from Cyprus High School and then attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah. She had a brilliant mind and a very good memory. Sandra was employed by Whirlpool Corporation. During her career she lived in Salt Lake City, Utah; Benton Harbor, Michigan; Denver, Colorado and Seattle, Washington where she was District Manager. Her district included Northern Oregon, Washington and Alaska. Upon retirement she moved back to Utah and has lived in Draper for the past ten years. Our family members loved visiting her in all the places she lived. She was always so gracious and fun to be with. Sandra enjoyed vacationing, especially to Hawaii and the Oregon coast. She was an avid fan of the Seattle Seahawks. Her puppies SamDog and Stanley brought her much enjoyment and companionship during her life. She is survived by her parents, brothers, Paul J. Sodja (Kay) and Martin D. Sodja (Jacque); nephews and nieces, Steven P. Sodja (Kristine), Mark J. Sodja (Lynette), Terri Sanders (Rick), Julie Moore (Douglas), Lindsay Boudreau (Justyn), Haylee Long (Chris), and numerous cousins. Our family would like to express our appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Marks Hospital ICU for their wonderful care and dedication during their treatment of Sandra. We also want to thank her neighbors Larry and Valerie Cazier for the helpful things they did for her. According to Sandra's wishes the family will have a private graveside service. Interment will take place on March 9, 2011 at Valley View Memorial Park.
