Our beloved Husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away March 5th, 2011, of natural causes, with his loving wife and family by his side.Born in Salt Lake City, UT on Nov. 27, 1925 to Max and Anna Schmidt. He is survived by his wife, Elaine, of 58 years, four wonderful children: Cy (Kathy), Mark (Elaine), Brad (Cindy), Andrea (Scott) Schulze; 12 special grandchildren and 10 darling great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. He attended Madison Elementary, graduated from Granite High School and the University of Utah with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Benninghton aircraft carrier during World War II. He served an LDS mission in the Northern States presided over by Creed Haymond. Worked for 35 years as the V.P. of First Federal Savings and Loan. He loved his family and friends, the gospel, music (trumpet and piano) and the outdoors (fishing, camping, hiking and motorcycling). He served for over 20 years as a Family History Director and Consultant, which was his joy and passion. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Chevy Chase Ward, 5235 South Wesley Road (1250 East), Holladay, Utah. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, March 9, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. at Murray Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Utah, and one hour prior to service at the church.
