Loretta "Renon" Crabb Wheelock 1938 ~ 2011
Our beloved mother, wife, sister and grandmother, Renon Wheelock, passed away surrounded by her loving family, Friday, March 4, 2011, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.She was born October 14, 1938 in Payson, Utah to Lowell and Exilda Nielson Crabb, the second of three children. She married Gilbert Wheelock, August 13, 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they have five children, 13 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. Renon graduated from Spanish Fork High School and attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. She had a keen mind and was a valued employee in the offices of Spanish Fork City, Sears and Barber Brothers. She enjoyed giving community service as a member of the Spanish Fork Jaycees. She was an excellent seamstress and particularly enjoyed making blankets to welcome new babies. She was an avid reader and a whiz at working crossword puzzles. Most of all, she loved being with her family. She was a devoted, dedicated mother who gave tireless, selfless service to her family. She suffered from many health challenges throughout her lifetime but was known and admired as one who never murmured nor complained. She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving faithfully in many callings. Renon is survived by her husband, Gilbert Wheelock, and her children: Cory Wheelock, Tracy Wheelock, Natalie Jensen, Jason Wheelock, all of Spanish Fork; and Julie Warren (Brad) of Salem; grandchildren: Steven, Christopher, Robert, Roxie Wheelock; Taylor, Aubrie, Tanner Jensen; Samantha and Landen Wheelock; Hunter, Brianne, Maddison, Bridger Warren; and great-granddaughter, Raelee Jo Wheelock. She is also survived by her sister, Bonnie Lee Pinegar (Rex), Salt Lake City; her brother, Kelly Crabb (Janice), South Pasadena, California; her brother-in-law, Richard Wheelock, Bountiful, Utah; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews, and an aunt, Mildred Nielson Silva, Orem, Utah. Renon was preceded in death by her parents, Lowell and Exilda Crabb and a sister-in-law, Eleanor Wheelock. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2011 in the Spanish Fork Stake Center, located at 1006 East and 200 South, at 11 a.m. Friends and family may call at Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main Street, Wednesday, March 9, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the stake center on Thursday, prior to the services. Interment will be at Spanish Fork City Cemetery. The family expresses thanks to the competent and compassionate staff at Utah Valley Medical Center for their loving care of Renon during her illness.
