Texas Rangers center fielder Julio Borbon, left, walks off the field with athletic trainer Jamie Reed, right, in the seventh inning of a baseball game against the Los Angeles Angels, Friday, May 13, 2011, in Arlington, Texas. Borbon left the game with a strained left hamstring after making a catch on a flyball by the Angels’ Hank Conger. The Rangers won 4-1.

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Texas Rangers have put center fielder Julio Borbon on the disabled list with an injured left hamstring.

The move Saturday leaves the Rangers with their opening-day outfield on the disabled list. AL MVP Josh Hamilton has been out since breaking a bone in his upper right arm April 12 and Nelson Cruz came out of a game May 3 with a strained right quadriceps.

Borbon was hurt Friday night running to catch a flyball against the Los Angeles Angels.

Texas recalled outfielder Endy Chavez from Triple-A Round Rock, and he was listed in Saturday's lineup against the Angels leading off in center field. Chavez has played in nine major league seasons, his last in 2009 for Seattle before tearing the ACL in his right knee.
