BOSTON — At Eire Pub in Dorchester, one of Boston's most Irish neighborhoods, there is just a little bit more Irish pride.

Pub regulars grew quiet there Monday as televisions showed President Barack Obama speaking in Dublin, embracing his Irish ancestry.

It brought tear to the eyes of iron worker Peter Galvin, who heard Obama's speech while having lunch at the pub.

Several there said it made them "proud to be an American" and "proud to be Irish."

Galvin says Obama's visit is an example of how far Irish Americans and race relations have come in the U.S.
