Having loved and lived well, our wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Joan L. Warnock, passed away at home May 23, 2011 surrounded by her family. Joan was born August 29, 1927 to Ben Lingenfelter and Winifred Van Dyke. Growing up in Salt Lake City, Joan attended Rowland Hall St. Mark's School and graduated from Provo High. Joan attended the University of Utah where she pledged to Delta Gamma. Joan married Robert Warnock on February 26, 1948. Joan and Bob had three children: Michael (Linda), Linda Koch (Bruce) and Laney Long (Chris). Joan is survived by her husband of 63 years; children; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; as well as her sisters, Susan Blackner and Nancy Lium. At the age of 65, Joan returned to school and received her BFA from Westminster College. Joan worked for American Smelting and Refining, Hogle Zoo, Creative Realty Services, and the Salt Lake Tribune. Joan was a life-long member of P.E.O. and tested the eyes of thousands of Utah school children and also served on the Westminster Women's Board. Joan and her college friends enjoyed and maintained Monday and Wednesday Bridge Clubs for over 50 years. A loving wife, mother and friend, Joan, leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, compassion and laughter. Memorial services will be Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel-Juan Diego Catholic High School located at 300 East 11800 South in Draper, UT.
