Lyle "Kelly" Atkinson Fighter to the end!
Lyle Holliday Atkinson, known to many as "Kelly", age 89, passed away May 23, 2011, in the Spring Creek Care Center. He was born on April 24, 1922, in Weston, Idaho to George R. Atkinson and Rosie Holliday. Lyle served in World War II as a decorated Marine. In his younger years he enjoyed Jr. and Sr. Golden Gloves boxing and teaching Tae Kwon Do. He was a master gardener and an accomplished artist. Lyle was an entrepreneur and created TV chairs, the Colonel Sander statues and many other inventions. He is survived by his brother, Blaine Atkinson; daughter, Kellene VanDorn; 10 stepchildren and many grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn, his parents, brother and sister. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 2nd, 2:00 p.m. at Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 So. Highland Dr. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services.
