CHICAGO — Jailed former suburban Chicago police officer Drew Peterson is demanding that a television company halt production of a movie about his legal troubles starring Rob Lowe.

Walter Maksym, a lawyer for the former Bolingbrook officer who has pleaded not guilty to murdering his third wife and who is suspected in the disappearance of his fourth, said Thursday that he sent out 18 letters on Wednesday, including to Lowe and Lifetime Entertainment Services.

Maksym says he is demanding Lifetime stop production because they have no legal right to use Peterson's name, likeness or story without Peterson's approval. He says he will file a lawsuit by the end of the month if he doesn't hear back from Lifetime about the letter.
