4-year-old boy in critical condition after near drowning

FAYETTE, Juab County — A 4-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was found in shallow water at the West Beach of Yuba State Park Thursday.

Officials say a 911 call was made by a camper who found the boy. Witnesses at the scene performed CPR until medical personnel arrived. The boy was taken to a local hospital by ambulance and later flown to Primary Children's Medical Center.

Officials believe the boy entered the water after wandering away from a campsite where he was staying with his parents. His name has not yet been released.
