LaVerda R. Barron 1923 ~ 2011
LaVerda R. Barron, 88, returned to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday morning, July 12, 2011. She was born January 22, 1923, in Logan, Utah, a daughter of Virgil Ralphs and Lucinda Mae Corbridge. She married Howard H. Barron in the Salt Lake Temple on September 20, 1946. She was the valedictorian of her high school and attended Utah State University. She went to work as a secretary for the Idaho State Attorney General. Then to California where she worked for the legal department of Universal Motion Pictures. After which she settled into her favorite role of wife and mother giving birth to five children. She loved the Church and dedicated her life to serving others and the Lord. She served as Primary President, Relief Society President, teacher, and numerous other Church callings. She and her husband served two full-time missions and were dedicated temple workers. She was very active and held leadership positions in Yesharah and Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and BYU Women. Her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her three children: Verdalee, Orem; Bryce (Stephanie), Highland; Bryan (Renee), American Fork; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 16, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in the Hillcrest 4th Ward LDS Chapel, 440 East 800 South in Orem. A viewing will be held Friday, July 15, 2011, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street in Orem and also Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the ward chapel.
