Hilamani Teiko Fonua passed away on July 11, 2011 at home with his family. He was born in Houma, Tonga on September 26, 1951 to his loving parents Siosiua Teiko Fonua and Makasini Kioa Fonua. He married the love of his life, Lolohea Latu Fonua in the Salt Lake Temple. He dedicated his life to serving others in any way he could. He was a mechanic for over 30 years. He loved studying the scriptures, attending the temple with this beautiful wife, and teaching his children about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He was serving as the 1st counselor in the Stake Presidency in the North Salt Lake Tongan Stake before returning to our Heavenly Father. He also loved gardening, cooking with his wife, and playing with his grand-children. He is survived by his wife Lolohea Latu Fonua and nine children (from oldest to youngest): Helaman Teiko Fonua Jr. (Ana Moleni Fonua), Kalolaine Fifita Beebe (Brett Beebe), Elone Teiko Fonua (Gabrielle Castro Fonua), Gina Rita Fonua, Alama Lee Fonua, Evaloni Annie Fonua, Siosaia Samuela Fonua, Imeila Omea Fonua, Erina Sela Fonua and eight grandchildren. His siblings Siliva Fonua, Penisimani Fonua, Mele Takuvaka, Militoni Fonua, Pauline Fonua, Stoney Fonua, Nola Tua'one, 'Ofa Fonua, Sela Brown, and Kalake Fonua. He was preceded in death by his parents Siosiua Teiko Fonua and Makasini Kioa Fonua. A viewing will be held on Friday, July 15, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Tongan North Stake Center, 4440 West 3325 South, West Valley, UT. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Tongan North Stake Center.
