Charles Edward (Chuck) Hartwell 1947 ~ 2011
Charles E. Hartwell, much loved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2011 at his home in West Jordan. He was born on March 8, 1947 in Fletcher, Oklahoma, to John Edward and Mary Marie Schumann Hartwell. He married his sweetheart, Sharron Kay Harris, on February 24, 1970, in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 2, 1976. He retired from Kennecott Copper after 37 years of employment. Chuck and Kay enjoyed camping in their trailer and exploring the western states, with their children, then later as a companionable twosome. A trip to Mt. Rushmore and one to the east coast provided special memories. Chuck is survived by his wife, Kay; son, Michael (J.J.), daughters, Kimberlee Kay Jordan and Molly (Patrick) Edwards; grandchildren, Michael, J.W., Shaylene, Shawnee, Kaylee and Lindsey Hartwell; Ashlee and Taylor Hoyt; Derik, Vincent, Courtney and Mason Edwards; brother, Ron; sisters, Glenda (Jack) Butterfield and Kathryn (Gary) Larsen; brothers-in-law, Ron (Sarah) Harris; William (Arla) Harris Jr.; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at the Mountain View 10th Ward Chapel, 9000 S. 2900 W. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street and one hour prior to the services, at the church.
