Roland Byron Miller, D.D.S. 1920 ~ 2011

Beloved husband, son of Byron Webster Miller and Angle Morette Miller, was born on February 3, 1920 in Carthage, MO. He passed away July 13, 2011.Roland was a 1st Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a bombardier on a B-26 and flew 64 combat missions out of North Africa. He attended Washington University Dental School in St. Louis, MO. He practiced dentistry in Salt Lake City for 40 years. He married Betty Jean Coday June 9, 1947 in St. Louis, MO. She passed away April 9, 1969. Roland married Loretta Julian May 29, 1970 at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Roland enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking and traveling. He was an opera buff and also enjoyed the symphony and theater. He had a great sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, Loretta; brother, Norman (Sallie) Miller; nieces, Sarah, Nola and Audrey; and his brother-in-law, Jean Julian. Preceded in death by his parents and step-mother Clara. Roland was a parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., 1385 East Spring Lane. Family and friends can visit from 10:30-11:00 a.m. prior to the Mass. Committal: Murray City Cemetery.
