CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Authorities have identified the four Colorado family members killed after their vehicle drove into a washed-out section of a mountain highway in Wyoming.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol says 39-year-old Laurel Constantinides and her three daughters— 8-year-old Hanna, 5-year-old Zoey and 2-year-old Lucia — all died early Tuesday morning. All are from Colorado Springs.
The patrol says the father and husband, 39-year-old Alex Constantinides, survived and was taken to a hospital. He was released later Tuesday.
The family had been camping in Medicine Bow National Forest when they fled torrential rains and drove into a 25-foot washed out section of Wyoming 130.
A local emergency management official who was responding to the accident also plunged into the creek and was rescued about two hours later.
