SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The principal under investigation for allegations of child molestation at a Northern California private school has denied he did anything wrong, declaring "I am innocent."
Robert Adams addressed the accusations Wednesday, the first time he has spoken publicly since authorities shut down Creative Frontier School in the Sacramento suburb of Citrus Heights.
With his wife, three daughters and attorney by his side, Adams denied accusations that he inappropriately touched young girls over a 15-year period.
He says he is "shocked at the allegations" and "sad mostly for the trauma this has created for the children" at the school. Adams says the investigation will show he did nothing wrong.
The state and police are investigating Adams after reports that he touched young girls under their shirts and down their pants.
