Ila Afton Peterson Bell "DOLL"
Ila Afton Peterson Bell, who was loved dearly by all, passed away at the age of 83 on July 16, 2011 after a long battle and complications from dementia/Alzheimer's.Our mom was born in Indianola, Utah to Melvin and Irma Peterson. Mom married our dad Hugh Bell, on November 15, 1947. They are the parents of three daughters. Mom is a very loving and caring wife, mother, granny, and great-grandma. Mom worked for ophthalmologist and orthopedic surgeons at St. Marks Hospital. Then she went to work for the Salt Lake County Health Department where she retired in 1990. Mom is a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed to travel, crochet, sewing, gardening and making new friends wherever she went. Mom is survived by her husband, Hugh. Daughters Ilene, Janet and A.J., Thora and Brooks, Granny to Kim Phillips, Paul, Kenny Moeller, Nichole and Troy Watt, Loni and B.J. Misik. Great-grandma to Kylee Phillips, Olivia Watt, Brylie Misik and soon to be Baby Misik. Mom is also survived by her brother Duane and Joann Peterson, sisters Juanita Jensen, Carol and Lamoine Christian, Gladys and Wilford Lundskog, Peggy and Legrande Poor, sister-in-law Eloise Bell, and many extended family members and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, brother Ned and sister Arlene. Memorial service will be held Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. Friends may call 2- 2:30 prior to service at the First Presbyterian Church, 12 C Street, Salt Lake City. Interment Utah Veteran's Memorial Park, 17111 Camp Williams Rd., Bluffdale, Utah. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 855 E. 4800 So.
