WOODS CROSS — A part-time justice court judge is needed in Woods Cross.
Applications are currently being accepted for those interested in filling the post left open after the resignation of Judge Robert G. Peters, which was effective July 20.
Potential applicants must be at least 25 years of age, a Utah resident of three years and a U.S. citizen with a high school diploma or GED. They are also required to have lived in the county in which they may serve for at least six months.
The position pays between $22,600 and $25,000 and does not come with benefits. Information on work hours can be obtained from Gary Uresk,Woods Cross city administrator, at 801-677-1004.
Applications are due by Aug. 4 at 5 p.m. and can be found on the Utah State Court's website at www.utcourts.gov under employment opportunities.

A nominating commission will be created with representatives appointed from the county commission, area municipalities, and the local bar association. The commission is tasked with submitting three to five names to Woods Cross Mayor Kent Parry for consideration. The appointment is then subject to confirmation by the Woods Cross City Council and certification by the Utah Judicial Council.
