Pioneer Day, officially designated as July 24, is a holiday unique to Utah as it commemorates the immigration of the Mormon pioneers entering the Salt Lake Valley in 1847 to create a new home.
Whether it is spent playing pioneer games, watching a parade with the family or going to a community barbecue, Utahns around the state will be celebrating the holiday throughout the weekend.
