HOOVER, Ala. — LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson says he wants to change a lot of minds.
The senior has drawn criticism in an up-and-down career and says he struggled with his confidence last season. Now, Jefferson says he's doing the kind of preparation as a player and leader that he "wasn't prepared to do last year."
He spoke at Southeastern Conference media days on Friday.
Coach Les Miles says new offensive coordinator Steve Kragthorpe has helped Jefferson considerably.
He says receiver Russell Shepherd missed media days because of personal matters, but declined to elaborate.
He also says he is "prohibited" from commenting on scouting service owner Willie Lyles but said the university is cooperating with an investigation into Lyles' dealings with Oregon.
