John Seth Fullmer "Gone Fishing" 1930 ~ 2011

John Seth Fullmer, age 81, passed away on July 20, 2011. John was born on June 25, 1930 in Vernal, Utah to John Floyd and Helen Mar Ross Fullmer. The third of eight children. Raised most of his life in the Uintah Basin he enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family and friends. Anybody who has been around John would know of his fishing stories and how much he loved the outdoors. He moved to Washington State where he graduated from Sunnyside High School. He then returned back to Utah where he enlisted in the Air Force. John served during the Korean Conflict for four years. During his first leave he met and later married his sweetheart Bonnie Colleen Peterson on July 6, 1951 in Provo, Utah. They have six children; Sandra Covington, Floyd (Kathy) Fullmer, Karen (Paul) Washburn, David (Diane) Fullmer, Perry Fullmer, Cheryl (Steven) Vincent. John worked at Kennecott Copper mine as a metallurgist. Later he was transferred to Silver City, New Mexico where he finished out his working years, retiring at age 62. John and Bonnie moved to Vernal, Utah for a time, then to Sandy, Utah to live out his last days with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 60 years; his brother Ross (Lois) Fullmer, his sisters Frankie (Keith) Pace, Ted Starley, Ken Mahler, Marilyn (Bernell) Cordner, Beth (Dennis) Peterson, and Betty (Keith) Bastian; his six children, 30 grandchildren, and 63 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren. Preceding in death are his father and mother, sisters Jewel Mahler, Janice Starley and son-in-law Brent Covington. Graveside Services will be Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Lake Hills Memorial, 10055 South State Street, Sandy, Utah. Family and friends may visit on Friday, July 22, 2011 at Murray Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East from 6-8 pm and one hour prior to service on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Lake Hills.
