Since home prices are becoming more reasonable and within the reach of young families, I have noticed an alarming trend by financial institutions as two of my children have been attempting to become homeowners: Rather than selling homes to stable young families, financial institutions are preferring absentee landlords with cash (and often at a lower price than the young couples are offering).

It is sad to see financial institutions flooding neighborhoods with these investors instead of letting houses go to homeowners with a vested interest in the upkeep of the home and property and with ties to the community.

Government and financial institutions created the current housing crisis. Their current practices will not improve matters and will come back to bite them even worse.
