SALT LAKE CITY — A man who said he worked in a Utah middle school has been charged in a child pornography investigation, court documents state.

Andreas Riis Olsen, 30, of Salt Lake City, was charged this week in 3rd District Court with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, all second-degree felonies. He is believed to have shared files containing child porn from April 2010 until March of this year, according to court documents.

During their investigation, Olsen told agents from Utah's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force that he set up a MySpace account posing as a 13-year-old girl.

"Olsen said that he originally created the account to review possible online bullying in the middle school where he had worked as an assistant to the vice principal," according to court documents. "Olsen did not appear to recall using it for other purposes, but later stated he had."

Charging documents do not state which middle school Olsen may have worked at or for what other purpose he used the MySpace account. The computer police seized was at Olsen's home.

Investigators found several videos on his computer of prepubescent children as young as 3 years old being raped or having sex acts committed on them, according to court documents.

When confronted by investigators, Olsen admitted to downloading adult porn, and said downloaded child porn "on occasion" because he was "curious" about it, according to court documents.

Investigators examining Olsen's computer found 79 images and 19 videos containing child porn, court records state. Olsen is scheduled to make an initial appearance in court on Monday.
