Donald Ray Zaelit1932 - 2012Don passed away surrounded by his family on Oct 11, 2012. He was born, along with his twin brother on February 20th, 1932 to Florence Aste and Louis Corem Zaelit.Don was an Eagle Scout, graduated from West High, and served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was married to Ruth May Bishop on March 3, 1954 in Elko, NV. Later sealed for eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. They had 58 happy years together. They raised three sons: Steve, John, and Matt. Don was employed by M&M distributing for over 40 years.Don enjoyed watching the Utes, bowling, golf, hunting, fishing, and spending time at his cabin. Above all, he loved being with his family. Don was passionate about his family and made his grandchildren the center of his world; his family was truly the pride and joy of his life. He is a member of the LDS church and fulfilled various callings including an inner-city mission with his Wife.Don is survived by his wife Ruth, sons Steve (Linda) and Matt (Peggy), sister Nancy, special aunts, many nieces, nephews and cousins, 6 grandchildren and their spouses, and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son John, brother Ron (Judy), and two grandchildren.A viewing will be held on Oct 14, 2012 at the Rose Park North Stake Building, 1200 N 1200 W on the South end from 6 to 8 pm and the following morning, Monday Oct 15, from 9:45-10:45. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am followed by interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery 1342 East 5th South Salt Lake City.The family would like to thank Dr Rupper and his staff at the VA hospital and Superior Home Care especially Nykie and Clint for their tender care and service to our father.
