Julia Pauline Waldvogel Drury1921 ~ 21012Julia Pauline Waldvogel Drury died peacefully October 12, 2012 in South Jordan, Utah. She was born March 11, 1921 in Salt Lake city to immigrant parents Carl Waldvogel and Pauline Waser Waldvogel. Her family moved to Chicago, Illinois where she attended school before moving back to Utah. She married William Drury, later divorced.Julia was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was a strong and independent woman. She loved to travel and went throughout the world with friends, her children, and her grandchildren. She was a season ticket holder for the Hale Theater and loved every show. She was also an avid reader and a regular visitor to the library. She taught her family to work hard and led by example. She worked for the State of Utah at Work Force Services. Julia had a beautiful smile and was a very good friend. She is deeply loved and missed by all who knew her.She was a loving mother of, and survived by, four children, Craig (Sandy), Pauline (Greg), Julene (Mondel), and Colleen (Robert). She has 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Carl, Otto, Oscar, Werner, Walter, and Clara as well as her granddaughter, Heather Martinez.A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, from 9:30 am-10:30 am at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, followed by a brief service. Interment will be in the Hyrum City Cemetery, Hyrum, Utah following the services at approximately 1:30 pm.The family would like to thank the Legacy House Assisted Living of South Jordan and Hospice for the compassionate care given to our mother.
