BonNeta Russon 1932 ~ 2012Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend; BonNeta Russon, age 80, passed away in Santa Barbara, California on October 9, 2012. She was born in Lehi, Utah to Benjamin Lowell Russon and Blonda Wanita Peterson Russon on December 2, 1932.She graduated from Lehi High School and was valedictorian of the class of 1951. She attended the University of Utah where she graduated magna cum laude in 1956 and was accepted into the scholastic honor society of Phi Beta Kappa. After graduation, she worked in the Salt Lake City public schools as an English teacher. She taught at Bryant Jr. High and West High School, where a friend introduced her to Wayne H. Fort, whom she married in 1958. Together they have three children and were later divorced in 1983.BonNeta worked and lived in several states including Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, Florida and California. She managed loan organization offices for financial institutions and spent time training new employees until the time of her death in Santa Barbara, California.BonNeta was an avid reader and would always be seen with a book in hand, just in case she had a free moment. She loved to quilt, knit and crochet; and getting one of her hand-made gifts was something to look forward to. Her wit was quick and sharp; and she had a low infectious laugh that she shared freely and often. To those who knew her, she will be greatly missed. She is survived by her three children and two grandchildren: Deborah Ann Fort, Hawthorne, CA; Diana Suzanne Fort Warner (Ben), Albany, OH; and Jeffery Wayne For (Marion), Mission Viejo, CA; and a sister, Ann Ranae Russon Williams of Pleasant Grove, UT. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Santa Barbara LDS Church on 478 Cambridge Dr. at 2:00 p.m. with a viewing at the same location one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Santa Barbara.
