Kenneth Stewart Rupp1926 ~ 2012Kenneth Stewart Rupp, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather passed away on October 11, 2012 at Cottage Glenn in Tooele, Utah. He was born in Tooele, Utah on September 11, 1926 to Erma Stewart and Clarence Rupp. At age 17 he joined the Navy and served in the South Pacific during World War II. At the end of the war he returned to Tooele High School in order to graduate, where he served as his class president. He married Lorena Elkington on June 8, 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple. He attended and graduated from BYU with a teaching degree. He taught 4th and 6th grades at the Tooele Central School. He also served as principal at Dugway and West Elementary schools. He finished his career as the curriculum coordinator for the Tooele County School District. He always had a beautiful garden and loved to work with his plants, trees and animals. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many different positions. The calling that he loved most was a temple worker at the Jordan River Temple. He was survived by his wife Lorena, brother Glenn Rupp (Leonora) Magna, daughter Kathy Elton (Ron) Tooele, son David Rupp (Marva) Tooele and daughter Karen Smith (Steve) Twin Falls, Idaho. He loved his 14 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Leo Rupp and sister Shirley Liljenquist. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday October 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tooele Fourth Ward Church located at 192 West 200 South, Tooele. A viewing will be held on Tuesday October 16th, at Tate Mortuary from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday at the Fourth Ward Church, one hour before the services. Interment will be at the Tooele City Cemetery.
