Darlene Black Billings1922 ~ 2012Our beloved mother Darlene Black Billings has reunited with the love of her life, T. R. Billings and their son Ricky on October 13, 2012.Darlene was born June 16, 1922 to Morley Larsen Black and Rachel Lunt Black in Blanding, Utah. She grew up in Blanding and always remained faithful to her roots and religion. She was a star athlete and remained active all her life. She excelled in softball, cheerleading, dancing, and golf, and enjoyed fashion and her family reunions. She was on the Santa Maria, California Country Club golf team even up in to her 70s. She golfed at 81 in Salt Lake City and won a Wii Bowling tournament the Thursday before she became ill with osteomyelitis. She was a wonderful mother and teacher to her girls and many others who came into contact with her. She had many, many friends who benefited from her compassion and loyalty. She was a talented cook and homemaker.She is survived by her daughter Peggy (Ken) Shulsen and their children Stacy (Kevin) Rice and their sons Austin and Kade, Kenny (Tami) Shulsen and their son Luke, her daughter Patricia (Howard) Levin and their children Angela (Mark) Stallings and their girls Alexandra, Ashley, Aubrey and Amber, Andrew (Jamie) Levin and their girls Ava, Kaia, Elyana, and Adam (Ashley) Levin and their daughter Odette. She is also survived by a sister Rachel Black, Blanding, Utah and many loving nieces and nephews.We would like to thank the wonderful caregivers who work at Atria, Sandy. They went out of their way for our wonderful mom. We would also like to thank the kind people at Pine Mountain Hospice (and Jordann) who were with her in her last days.A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah.
