Robert George Niederhauser1929 ~ 2012"Bob"Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Robert George Niederhauser, 83, passed away on October 11, 2012, after a valiant battle with kidney disease. Bob was born to Afton Jones and George Ludwig von Niederhausern on March 23, 1929 in Logan, Utah. He married Marilyn Meranda, and together they had four children, Brenda, Robert, Terrence Craig, and Jeffery. They spent 62 wonderful years together. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Bob was a Sergeant in the Korean War for 18 months. He returned to Utah to work for 60 years as a mechanical contractor. Prior to retiring, he worked for Koch Mechanical in Salt Lake, but his real passion was to be with his family or in his garden. His gentle spirit and charismatic sense of humor made it impossible not to laugh whenever you were with him. It was difficult to leave his sight without bags of fruit and vegetables from his garden, or a bag of homemade beef jerky. His unconditional love was felt by all who knew him and he will be sorely missed until the day we are reunited with him again. Bob loved his family and is survived by his wife Marilyn, children Brenda (Bill), Terrence Craig, and Jeff (Jan), brother Gordon, sisters DeAnn (Tom), Saundra (Bruce), 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Robert, sister Nila, brother-in-law John, sister-in-law Mary Lou, and grandson Justin. A viewing will be held on Wednesday morning, October 17th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the LDS Ward Building Relief Society Room at 6301 South 2300 East. The family would like to thank the Hunter family, Wasatch Dialysis Center and Applegate Homecare for the wonderful treatment that he received during his final months.
