MIAMI — The Miami Heat say they're thrilled to be home from China. They'll be happier when they know what time it is.
After a week abroad, the Heat went back to work in their home gym on Tuesday — with players still dealing with the aftereffects of time-zone travel. LeBron James says he's waking up around 3:45 a.m., Dwyane Wade angered his dogs by getting them up at 4 a.m., and Udonis Haslem says teammates have been texting him as early as 5 a.m. in recent days.
But the NBA preseason schedule stops for no team: Miami has a game against Detroit Thursday, so Heat coach Erik Spoelstra summoned his club on Tuesday for practice.
