Utah State’s Seokwon Jeon finished tied for 35th place with a 10-over 226 at the UMKC hosted Bill Ross Intercollegiate held at the Milburn Golf and Country Club on Monday and Tuesday.
Utah State finished tied for 12th in the 14-team field with a 46-over 910 (301-298-311). UMKC won the tournament by two shots with a 6-over 870 (285-287-298), while Arkansas State’s Easton Key took medalist honors after rounds of 69, 71 and 70 for a 6-under 210.
Jeon, a freshman from Salt Lake City, Utah, had rounds of 71 and 75 Monday before carding an 8-over 80 during his final 18 holes Tuesday to tie for 35th with a 10-over 226. Senior Brendan Dennis (Roosevelt, Utah) tied for 52nd place with a 13-over 229 (76-73-80); freshman Reed Platke (Whitefish, Mont.) tied for 62nd with a 15-over 231 (78-75-78); junior Tanner Higham (Shelley, Idaho) tied for 68th with a 16-over 232 (76-81-75); and junior Kris Sayer (Idaho Falls, Idaho) also tied for 68th with a 16-over 232 (79-75-78).
Utah State will conclude its fall schedule next week as it travels to Simi Valley, Calif., to compete in the Cal State Northridge hosted Bill Cullum Invitational.
