Mabel Madsen"Grandma"Our beloved wife, mother and grandma returned to our Heavenly Father on Oct. 17, 2012. She was born in Kanapolis, Kansas on Aug. 6, 1922 to Louise Mae Stout and Nick Poulos. When young, she lived at Soldier Summit, Gulley & Scenic; and all of her adult life in Salt Lake.Mabel married Edwin Jay Madsen and they've spent over 65 years together in their first and only home where they raised 3 children: Richard, Kisty and Jaleen. Mom's heart was broken when Jaleen passed away in 2005. Our family has been blessed beyond words to have had her as a wife and sweetheart, perfect mom and wonderful grandma.She is survived by her husband, Jay; son, Richard (Paula) and their children, Brian (Donnell), Sharleen (Roland), Jeannette, Charles (Lise), Andrew (Christine), Justin, Reena (Andrew), Jessie (Mark), Joey and Chris; 14 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by her daughter, Kisty and children, Robyn (Joseph) and Colton; 2 grandsons, Matt (Victoria) and Isaac. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Paul Workman.Our heartfelt thanks to Romaine and her exceptional staff at Hazen for the love and excellent care over the last few weeks and for 40 plus years of friendship.Preceded in death by her daughter, Ellen Jaleen; sister, Virginia June Rasmussen; and parents. We believe they are having a wonderful reunion.Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Murray City Cemetery, 5600 So. Vine Street.
