Darlene Probst Shelton1931 ~ 2012"Together Again"Our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Darlene Probst Shelton passed away peacefully at home October 19, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.Darlene was born January 21, 1931 in Midway, Utah to Francis and Alice G. Probst. She married Grant W Shelton Sept. 21, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple. He passed away June 29, 2003.Darlene was generous and thoughtful and gave of herself through devoted service. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she faithfully served in many ward and stake callings, with a firm testimony of our Savior, Jesus Christ. She cherished the opportunity to serve as an ordinance worker in the Provo and Mt. Timpanogos temples. She and Grant were blessed to serve as missionaries on Temple Square. Darlene has been involved in the Midway Booster Club, Midway Garden Club and a member of the Belle Lettre Club. She served as Captain of the Hawthorn Camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.She loved flowers and kept an immaculate yard. Darlene and Grant were Midway's honored Citizens in 1995. Darlene loves Midway and the people there.She is survived by children: Shanna and Keith Horner (Heber), Stephen and Phyllis Shelton (Midway); grandchildren: Shawn and Amy Horner (Woods Cross), Jared and Janica Horner (Kaysville), Sherida and David Anderson (Tucson, AZ), Tyler and Aubrey Horner (San Antonio, TX) and Spencer Grant Shelton (Midway); 16 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kay and NaDene Probst (Midway). Preceded in death by her loving husband and parents.Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2012 11:00 AM in the Midway 2nd LDS Ward, 1102 South Center Street, Midway, Utah. Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday from 6:00 8:00PM at Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home, 288 North Main Street, Heber City, and on Tuesday from 9:30 10:30 AM prior to the services at the LDS Church.
