Neldon DeVon Curtis1930 ~ 2012Neldon DeVon Curtis, age 81, passed away October 7, 2012 in Sandy, Utah surrounded by family. He was born December 24, 1930 in Salt Lake to Ruel and Zola Curtis. He married Bertha J. McKeel on June 16, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple.He was known as a hard worker even in a generation of laborers. He carved out a life for his wife and family during tumultuous times, grounding his efforts in his faith and loved ones. He enjoyed holidays, sports, family history, camping, art, creating, gardening, research, books and his religion. He served in the Easter States Mission and held many Church callings including three Bishoprics. He is survived by: his wife Bertha J. McKeel; children, Kenda (Gary) Winn, Janet (Jerry) McWillis, Karen (Greg) Houskeeper, Sheryl (Randy) Broomhead, Larry (Shannon) Curtis; 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; siblings, Kent (Bonnie) Curtis, Rula (John) Flink, Barbara (Bill) Inkley.He was preceded in death by siblings: Phyrl Black, Ruel Curtis, Gae Gibbons, Dale Curtis, Sara Flink, Linda Bradshaw.Funeral services will be held Friday, October 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Butler 12th Ward, 7000 South 2700 East, Cottonwood Heights. Friends and family may call Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial Mortuary, 7800 South 3115 East, and again one hour prior to Friday's service at the Church.
