Obituary: WHITING, ELSIE LOUISE

Elsie Louise Florence Whiting1918-2012Heaven became a more glorious place on November 7, 2012. Elsie was born May 12, 1918 in Salt Lake City to Kelley and Ivey Florence. Married to Kenneth P. Whiting for 54 years. Elsie and Ken started a 12 step program in their LDS ward. She was a member of Al-anon for over 50 years. She was instrumental in bringing healing into the lives of many. Elsie loved cleaning. She cleaned peoples' homes into her 80's. She is probably cleaning the gates in heaven.She was preceded in death by her husband, son Robert and all of her siblings, Mabel, Lloyd, Ray, Marvin and Virginia. Survived by 2 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a daughter-in-law Linda.Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South in Sandy. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services.In lieu of flowers, Al-anon members (only) may donate to: Al-anon Family Group. Other donations may be made to Country Oaks Assisted Living (565 E. Medical Drive, Bountiful, Utah, 84010) where Elsie received such tender, loving care.
