Earl Leroy Higbee1927 ~ 2012Earl Leroy Higbee passed from this earthly existence on November 8, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 3, 1927 in Wallsburg, Utah to William Davis & Viola Jane Boren Higbee. He served in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He married his sweetheart, Donna Lou Robbins on September 6, 1950 in the Manti Temple.Earl is survived by his wife Donna, children: Dennis (Diane) Higbee, Terry Higbee, and Denise (Dave) Vickers, 18 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his daughters Elise Higbee and Sandra Ann Murphy, parents, brother Bill, and sisters Verlillion, Willa, and Donna.Earl's trade was in the sheet metal industry. He valiantly served in many callings in the LDS church including scoutmaster (his favorite calling), Aaronic priesthood advisor, High Councilor, Stake Executive Secretary and Bishop of the Sandy 7th Ward. He and his loving wife served several missions including the Philippines, Utah State Prison, and as Ward Missionaries. They also loved serving as temple workers at the Jordan River and Ogden temples.He loved wildlife and the outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He loved people and quickly made friends with anyone he talked to. He loved to teach the gospel to anyone who would listen. His love, influence, and service to his fellow man cannot be measured.Earl had fought a long and valiant fight with many health problems. He was a loving patriarch and a living example of what he preached. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. We express our deepest gratitude to the nurses and doctors of the IHC Riverton Hospital Emergency Room and ICU for their service as ministering angels to Dad in his final hours.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 am in the Riverton Stake Center, 1855 W. 13400 So. Friends may call Monday evening from 6-8 pm at the Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 So. 2200 W. and Tuesday 1 hour prior to services at the church.
